In this interview, I had the opportunity to speak with Noor Fatima, a determined and inspiring young woman with a visual impairment who is a student at the Rising Sun Institute. Her journey is a powerful example of how the right support, guidance, and environment can completely change a person’s path.
Noor shared how her time at Rising Sun helped her grow—not just academically, but emotionally and socially. From building basic life skills to finding the confidence to speak for herself and now hold a job, her progression has been nothing short of incredible.
When I asked her how she thinks life might have looked without Rising Sun, her answer was both honest and moving.
“If it weren’t for Rising Sun, I don’t think I’d be the confident person I am today. They didn’t just teach me—they believed in me.”
Her words stayed with me. In our conversation, she spoke about what it feels like to have a job, to be independent, and to finally feel seen, not just as someone with a disability, but as someone with value and potential.
This interview is a glimpse into what Rising Sun makes possible, through people like Noor who continue to break barriers and redefine what inclusion can look like.
